ECM LIBRA GROUP
Overview
ECM Libra Berhad reached a major milestone in its transformation into a major financial services group in Malaysia with Bank Negara's approval of an investment banking licence. The bank, ECM Libra Investment Bank, began operations February 6, 2008, throughout Malaysia. The launching of the bank allows ECM Libra to enhance the diversified portfolio of services it already offers its clients and customers.

ECM Libra Financial Group Berhad, formerly ECM Libra Avenue Berhad, is the holding company of ECM Libra Investment Bank and was formed by the merger of ECM Libra and Avenue Capital Resources on June 16, 2006. The merger was deemed imperative at that time in view of the changing financial landscape and the potential emergence of 13 investment banks arising from the implementation of the framework for investment banks created by Bank Negara and the Securities Commission. The amicable merger would allow the enlarged group to withstand and compete within a more challenging financial landscape.

The new entity is an established player in the financial services industry, being well-known and highly respected for its acumen and expertise in fund management, stockbroking, distribution and corporate advisory services. With its talented, skilled and dedicated staff, the group is sought after for its commitment to service and for its ingenuity and innovation in helping clients achieve their goals.

The transformation into a larger investment bank places the financial entity on a stronger yet more nimble footing, allowing it to pursue future alliances, mergers and acquisitions that will grow the organisation's revenue base in the financial services industry.
